Look Up

This is the perfect picture of me as a child. I always had my nose in a book and would avoid going outside as it wasn't conducive to quality reading time. However, I have learned that sometimes it is good to look up and to appreciate the beauty of the world around you. I also realise that I spent so much time in the stories of others that I wasn't actively being the protagonist of my own narrative.

I still read a lot, but I do make sure that I take time in to admire the elegance and power of a horse running, or to be in awe of the changing colours of the seasons. Yes, parts of the world are a dumpster fire, but we also need to look up from the constant noise of the media or social media and find the good and the beautiful again. Breathe.
