Of Ice and Moonlight
I feel like I just wrote the title of a fantasy or romantasy book when I decided on the name of this post. I was going to call it, 'A Court of Ice and Moonlight', but I didn't want to fall into that old cliché. It seems every book that comes out these days falls into that same pattern.
While I am discussing book peeves, and before I get into the actual reason for this post, I need to get a few things off of my chest when it comes to books, publishers, and tropes.
- I like chapters to have names. Remember the good old days when you knew you were up to the chapter called 'Deep Magic from the Dawn of Time' or 'A Long Expected Party'? I can never remember that I am up to chapter XII.
- I am sick of the whole trials trope. There, I said it.
- I like blurbs that actually tell you about the book. I do not care that some random newspaper editor liked the book. I don't want quotes from people, I want to know what the book is about.
- Editors, do your job! I should not have to correct grammar and spelling on my Kindle.
Right, now that I have that off my chest, let's get into the post!
Chapter 1: The Road to SWANK
The Snowflake Gown I am wearing is from Skindustrial Bodyworks and I am wearing the white closed version. This gown also comes with an open skirt version if you want to show a but more leg! It also comes in loads of fab colours. I was tossing up between the frozen and silver before I settled on the white.
The Ice Crown & Earrings are also from SKBW and are just gorgeous. They work perfectly with the gown, so make sure you grab these accessories as well.
My Magic Snowflake Lantern is from Goddess Creations. There are 8 different held lanterns in the pack as well as the mirrors of each. I teamed it up with a pose I already had to create this static look. The lanterns are definitely fun while you are walking about.
This lovely Moon Elf skin is from Scarlet Fey and is for Maitreya and Legacy. It comes with the body skin, elf face, and elf ears. Perfect for that winter fantasy look.
