Monster or Machine

Monster or machine?  Perhaps both, but whatever she is, she is no longer human.  Somewhere deep inside her soul a shred of a memory may exist; a memory of a life that doesn't seem to belong to her in a world that isn't hers.  She sees flashes of fields of flowers, the green of someone's eyes, a hand that brushes a stray lock of hair, and then blood and screams and darkness.
